The January issue, guest-edited by Rick Novy, will conclude our first full year of publication. I think I wish to mark this event in high style and release a special trade paperback edition of the issue, formatted like a short fiction anthology. Before proceeding with this plan, it would be nice to have some kind of sense of whether anyone would buy it (probably priced in the ten-ish dollar range). I can recoup cost without sales being huge, but there needs to be at least some sales of it. No one needs to commit now, obviously, but I wouldn't mind seeing some comments that indicate interest (or not) in this. It's going to be quite a good selection of stories with some new people that we haven't seen in M-Brane yet.

Depending on monies (I hate saying that, but yeah :|) I'd be interested, prolly. The nice thing about hardcopy magazines and books is they're easier to hand off to friends to read. O:)
Yep, put me down for a copy.

If it were up to me I'd have hardcopy of all the M-Brane issues, but I can't afford the price. If you do it for this one, though, I'll buy a copy.
I bet some of the writers in the issue will probably shell out for a copy, too, so I may be able to cover most of what it costs to get it up for print-on-demand just with that.
What about a trade paperback of the Year's Best?
A year's best has been considered, but I have not made a decision on it. It poses some problems that probably can be solved but which I haven't worked through. For one thing, the selection of the stories for it would be quite difficult. I'm not sure if it's a task that I want to do by myself. A suggestion was made to me some back to have a readers poll on it, but that's not easy either since so many readers have read some issues but not anywhere near all of them. It may happen, but possibly not in the first year. We'll see.
Sign me up for a copy....
